Full day of the whole of Dubai!

Our day was very busy and full, but we never would have seen so much variety of Dubai without booking this. Our tour guide and small group were lovely and we felt very comfortable instantly.

For the price, it was definitely worth the rush of the itinerary as it included a traditional water taxi ride, viewing the Mall fountain display and even tickets for the Atlantis Aquarium and Burj Khalifa. There was plenty of free time between the Khalifa and going home to do shopping if you had not been to the mall previously on your trip. The free time was the only allocated time to have food if you had not brought a packed lunch with you. We did not have time to eat till around 3pm so bare that in mind if you prefer to eat earlier.

The let down was the amount of strict time allowed in each place. My mum who is nearly 60 struggled to run around chasing the bus between the markets, villages and old town history. But like I said, it had to be that strict to enjoy so much of Dubai that we saw. We also learnt many facts along the way from our guide who was lovely.

I would certainly recommend this tour out of all the ones that we did whilst we were in Dubai. I wish we had better weather for the whole day but that could not be helped. Thank you for having us !

Some problems...

I know this review is late, but I still hope it can still be of use to others...

My husband and I took this tour in late November and found the experience to be fraught with problems from the start. First, before booking the tour, I tried to find out via the online form whether the tour included a visit of the “Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo” (as per the Viator website) or the Atlantis aquarium (as reported by a previous reviewer). Days later, I received a answer that was not helpful by which time I had taken the chance and booked the tour.

Second, following confirmation of the booking, it was suggested I contact the tour operator (Sinbad tours) to confirm the pick up time from our hotel. However, only a telephone number (not an email) was provided which is highly inconvenient for visitors from overseas. Fortunately, the hotel contacted them on my behalf a few days before the tour and was told we would be picked up between 8:45 and 9 am. However, we weren’t actually picked up until 9:30 am and had ask the hotel to call Sinbad a couple of times as we waited in the hotel lobby to make sure we weren’t forgotten. (Why Sinbad couldn’t call or email us to inform of the delay, I just don’t know).

Third, when the guide finally arrived, he asked whether we spoke German as the other passengers on the tour all spoke that language. Indicating we had signed up for an English tour he said he would give us commentary in English. Ultimately however, the guide spoke much more in German than English during the tour and we likely lost out on some information as a result.

Fourth, the aquarium stop was in fact the one at the Atlantis and not the one at the Mall which was indicated on the website, and one of the reasons we had signed up for the tour. Pointing this out to the guide (and showing him the supporting documentation), he indicated that he was a contractor (ie., not responsible for the itinerary), and that we could visit the Underwater aquarium on our own at the Mall (and pay for it on our own too). This was not the response I was hoping to hear.

With these various problems behind us, we enjoyed the rest of the tour - although we found the three plus hour stop at the Mall a bit long. We appreciated the fact that special transportation back to our hotel was arranged for us to save time given that the other passengers were going in a different direction.

Nice tour with a nice guide!

The only initial problem was the lack of communication from the tour company (different from the rest of the company tours hired here) but the tour was good and our guide Amira, was really nice, giving us so information about the city, the local culture, answering our questions and taking us to more places than the ones contrated on the tour! Thanks Amira!

Magical Dubai Tour

Abdullah was very knowledgeable and patient and a little amusing too. Tour gives a great overall view of what to see in Dubai city but definitely plan on extra days to go back and explore more completely.
