Great Guide & Highly recommended food tour

Gomez met us outside the metro station and our adventure our local dubai commenced ! he was very friendly and easy to talk too, and as we walked around be told us about all of the cultural knick knacks and traditions. the food tastings were all amazing, but the one we enjoyed the most was the camel milk ice cream and short boat ride across the the creek ! Around 4 pm was the perfect time to go in June since the heat and humidity was tolerable, and in any case Gomez provided us with water bottles and the food tastings were inside in air conditioned areas. Thank you very much Gomez for the pleasant and fun day, I highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to dubai that wishes to get the real feel of the place !

Great history with a twist of flavors!

Sandy was the greatest guide! He knew a lot of the culture and took us to the most beautiful and tasty restaurants that we wouldn’t have probably found without him. He chose carefully all of the best plates from each of the restaurants. Also, in each of them there were plenty of history and stories that he shared with us. We were able to get a hint of the old Dubai and of the new one filled with flavors and dishes from all over the world. Really recommended :)

Great tour, got to hear about the history of Dubai, visit the old town and souks. Sandy was a knowledgeable guide and very patient, answering all our questions and even changing the time for us last minute as we got in to Dubai very late

Amazing Evening Food Tour with Sandy

Me and my family had such a great night exploring and eating at all the traditional restaurants and eateries in Dubai Old Town with Sandy. Every single venue was chosen with such care and consideration, the food we tried were delicious and nothing short of fantastic! Sandy was an amazing tour guide with immense knowledge on basically everything related to Dubai and it's history. Walking through Old Town with Sandy was a completely different vibe compared to New Dubai, a must try. A truly unforgettable experience, definitely would recommend it if anyone is looking at doing a food tour in Dubai!

Fun, Local Experience

It was fun venturing into Old Dubai to see the gold, spice, and textile souqs; learn a bit of history; and taste local authentic cuisines. Sandy was such a wonderful host and guide! He was patient, knowledgeable, and very kind. I’m glad I got to get a different vibe of Dubai outside of the more touristy and newer areas. Make sure you come hungry and ready to try all the yummy food. A very memorable experience!

Our guide, Sandy, was so personable and easy to be with. He was born in India and has lived in Dubai for over 11 years. Sandy helped us explore Dubai and get familiar with the neighborhoods. We discovered the BEST shawarma eatery with the most delicious karak tea that we have had. We appreciated that Sandy showed us how to add the dips to the bread, roll it up and eat. We appreciate learning how to put flavors together as the locals do. We saw the many window displays of gold, learning the names of spices, walking past the Iranian mosque (so beautiful on the outside), walking through the Hindu section and seeing the flower shops. What an amazing time learning about and tasting Dubai.

An authentic look (and taste) of an alternative Dubai

This is a great way to experience another side of Dubai - from the lens of the locals of Dubai. We got a real taste of souks specialising in spices, clothes and jewellery's historic Arabic restaurant, an eatery by the creek to mention a few. Very authentic.

Food and drinks were excellent. All restaurants were neat and clean; an interesting, eclectic mix of fairly large establishments to a small store selling locally made ice cream. The short boat ride across Dubai Creek adds to the experience.

Our host, Sandy, is knowledgeable and friendly. We had a really good time.

Best thing to do in dubai

This walking food tour with sandy was the best thing we did in Dubai . This part of Dubai is were we felt like it has some warmth and character . Sandy was very informative and I can see that he was passionate about this job

Sandy was our guide and he was fantastic. He was kind and knowledgable about all things related to Dubai and the UAE (history, food, culture, etc.). We do these local tours in most cities that we visit, and this was among the best experiences I've ever had--it was the main highlight of our visit to Dubai!

Get Way to Explore Old Dubai

We arrived to private 3-hour tour an hour late due to traffic. While not ideal, Sandy made adjustments on the fly to give us the best experience he could. We went to some great local places, tried delicious foods and walked through the Souks. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get an immersive experience of Dubai culture and authentic cuisine. One nit is that the price is fairly high for the return. I’ve been on several good tours around the world and this one was on the pricy side.
